What’s It About?
I mostly write fantasy fiction, but you’ll find a growing collection of historical fiction here, too (mostly Neolithic, Bronze, and Iron Age-related). Currently, I have standalone short stories, an ongoing historical fiction serial, hyper-short flash stories, stories set in collaborative worlds/projects, and an ongoing serialized novel.

Who’s Walt?
I’m Walt, a 17-year veteran freelance writer and author.
My time is currently split between writing The Empire of the Waves Cycle (book 1 is being published as a serial here) and The Phoenix Meridian (book 3 is currently in progress).
When not writing, I’m spending time with my wife, my (grown) kids, reading, gardening, playing D&D, or running.
What Can I Expect from Blackspire?
You can expect creative fiction mostly. A Dread Tide Rising publishes every Monday. Other stuff is more sporadic.
What about fees? Most of my work is free to read, and I’m trying to keep it out from behind the paywall. If you want to support me, you can join the Spireguard (paid subs) for $5/month. Spireguard members get benefits that aren’t available to free subscribers.
