Yesss! That’s exactly the reaction I was hoping for. I got all teary-eyed while I was writing it, so I hoped some of that would come across to readers.
I definitely cried. I think what's awesome about it is by the time we got to this point, you didn't have to SELL anything or convince us to feel it. It had already been built up so that all the emotions were there under the surface. Still, wonderful descriptions of energy and magic.

I think my biggest goal with all of this is that the characters and situations have weight; that, whether you like them or not, there's something under the text that what happens to them, how they react and feel about it all, seems real and maybe a little consequential.
